A group of triathletes entering the water during the swimming portion of a triathlon.

When someone says, “I could never do a triathlon,” they’re rarely talking about the bike or run.  They’re talking about the swim.  Swimming demands buoyancy, technique, and breath control.  These are hard enough to master in a controlled environment.  Add the uncertainty of open-water, and swimming becomes the number one reason most people don't do triathlons.

But here’s the good news: swimming is also the most coachable part of triathlon.  As an NCAA All-American swimmer, a coach of numerous NCAA All-Americans, and someone who has spent years studying technique at the highest level, I’ve seen athletes of every background transform their relationship with the water.  With the right technical feedback your swim leg can become a strength.  I offer swim technique feedback, here's how it works:

  1. Record a ten-second video of your under water freestyle technique (ideally in a pool)

  2. Record a ten-second video of your above water freestyle technique (ideally in a pool)

  3. Send both videos to me

  4. I'll send your videos back with commentary and technique drawings

  5. I'll also send a multiple screenshots from your videos with written commentary and technique drawings
